  • Account information: email address, password and authentication credentials, name and profile information, age, gender, height, weight, fitness level, and health goals.
  • Health and fitness data: dietary intake and food logs, calorie consumption, macronutrient data, weight tracking information, fitness goals, and workout activities.
  • Communications: messages, feedback, support requests, and survey responses you send to us.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

With your explicit permission, we may collect Apple Health data and app usage data.

  • Apple Health integration: step count, daily activity data, workout activities and duration, weight and body measurements, and nutritional data you choose to sync.
  • Usage data: app interaction patterns, accessed features, time spent on different sections, device information, crash logs, error reports, IP address, and general location.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for service delivery, personalization, analytics, communication, health insights, security, and legal compliance.

  • Service delivery: creating and managing your account and providing nutrition and fitness tracking features.
  • Personalization: customizing your experience based on health goals and preferences.
  • Analytics: understanding how you use the App to improve features and user experience.

4.1 Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase, a cloud-based platform that provides encrypted data transmission, automated backups, database encryption at rest, and security controls for app data.

4.2 Security Measures

We implement secure authentication protocols, encrypted passwords and sensitive data, regular security audits and updates, access controls limiting data to authorized personnel only, and secure API connections for all data transfers.

  • Data transmission uses SSL/TLS.
  • Backups may be created for recovery purposes.
  • No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

5.1 Third-Party Service Providers

We share your information only with the service providers necessary to operate the App.

  • Supabase: backend infrastructure, database hosting, authentication, and user management.
  • Apple Health: only with your explicit permission through iOS privacy controls, for reading health metrics and writing nutritional data you authorize.

5.2 Data We Do Not Share

We do not sell personal data, share data with marketers without consent, disclose health data to unaffiliated companies, or use your data for purposes outside this policy.

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information when required by law or court order, necessary to protect our legal rights or prevent fraud, or when you have given us consent.

6. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

6.1 Access and Control

You have the right to access, correct, delete, and export the personal data we hold about you.

6.2 Apple Health Integration

You can revoke Calwise's access to Apple Health through iOS Settings, manage which metrics Calwise can read or write, and clear synced data from Apple Health at any time.

6.3 Communication Preferences

You can opt out of non-essential promotional communications, marketing emails, and push notifications through app settings.

7. Data Retention

  • Account data: retained for the duration of your account and securely removed within 30 days after deletion.
  • Health data: retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual logs at any time.
  • Backup data: may be retained for up to 90 days for recovery purposes.
  • Analytics data: aggregated data retained for historical analysis with personally identifiable information removed.

8. Children's Privacy

Calwise is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your country of residence.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. We will notify you of material changes through the App, via email, or by posting an updated policy with a new Last Updated date.
